About On Distant Shores
Your family passed away in a horrible accident. Your entire world became a spiral of depression. Years of constant loneliness and guilt were all you knew. Now in your fifties, you find yourself at a crossroads. A chance at a new life lays tantalizingly before you. But as you crawl out of your personal hell, you find that something came with you. Something that wants you to stay trapped in the past.
In spite of it all, new friends and new faces come into your life. Offering a chance for a brighter future. One filled with hope and even new love. Though you soon discover you must make a choice. A terrible choice you cannot comprehend. And your new friends will literally stop at nothing to help you make it.

I am the actual author of this game. Please be aware it is a slow burn. A visual novel first and a porn game second. You also don’t get penalized for choosing everyone as this is a harem game of sorts. I hope you enjoy playing as this has been a true labor of love. I’ve included a link in case you are interested in supporting development of On Distant Shores. If not, I completely understand, but I would love if you would share any honest feedback in the comments.

This is a decent game, wish there was more choices in the girls you get involved with, Lily for example, I mean if I was friends with someone or if I was being harassed by someone and my sibling chose to fuck them I wouldn’t speak to my friend or sibling again and I would lose all respect for them, and I’m just not that interested in her to begin with even the first time meeting her I wasn’t interested, and being friends with the character Caleb isn’t something I would choose to do if there was a choice that didn’t fuck up the story line. I feel like they’re going to make him have some form of change of heart or something later on, but as he is now I wouldn’t personally give him the opportunity to have that change of heart or be around to witness it. At least you can choose not to get involved in the MMF sex scene, though not doing it will probably end all content with that girl altogether which is another disappointing thing, but that’s pretty much the extent of choice I’ve really seen in this game so far which is a bit of a downer especially when it involves the violence with one of the girls. Rather than ignoring her fantasy you’re forced to comply with it. For a game which seems to be headed down the path of 3 possible endings there is very little choice in my opinion. The lack of a gallery is also a problem the only way to rewatch scenes you’ve already seen is to either restart the game or create new saves just before every scene and nobody wants tot do that.
Strange and confusing during the game l had to choose one of the girls to kill l chose then l died
Another game by the dev obsessed with childhood trauma. I’m still looking for games where good things happen.
If you are into games with no choices, forced relationships on you, pathetic , waste of space MCs who act like simps and door mats, then this is for you. 1/5 for me.
Strange, confusing, sad, annoying, slightly comedic at times, and more.
It often feels like games like this one pretend to give you choices, and quite often a lot of choices regarding certain things (and in this game it just happens to be which of the girls gets to be part of the “harem” love/sex fest or not, although most of them will likely still be with you in the end anyway) and yet at the same time it doesn’t really give you all that much choice about anything. For example, with one girl if you choose not to love her but remain friends with her, you are then forced into seeing her again and are given the choice to remain friends or become romantically involved or ignore her, and at first I chose to just be friends because I wasn’t interested in her and then continued to want to remain friends and nothing more, but then much later on in the story after being almost forcibly reunited with this “friend”, she’s dressing very provactively and acting seductively and both the mc and this girl are using petnames and I’m being given option to “make her a mother”.
Why give the player the option to choose anything if you don’t take into account the continuity of the player’s choices? It doesn’t make any sense. There’s a lot more that baffles, confuses and frustrates me in this game and its story, it really feels like the dev is grasping at straws and forcing whatever narrative they’re running with here, and not really allowing you to follow through with whatever choices you make and see their consequences because instead it will just revert back to whatever you were “supposed to have chosen” without actually telling you what you should choose at any point because that would make any of the different options redundant, right? Seriously, games like this where they constantly throw fake choices at you and spit on you for daring to choose anything that deviates from the original narrative in mind, should not have any choices in them in the first place and thus be made into kinetic novels instead of visual novels, or simply put; it is a long and continous overly drawn out slideshow, and you should consider writing a book instead, and honestly due to the story being told I would read that book.
Now after having invested as much time as I have into it and seeing it through to its curremt version end point, and all the different variables from the supposed different options, I now feel a strange compulsion to see how it all ends because regardless of my disatisfaction with the choices or lackthereof, I did still enjoy the story being told and so I’m eagerly waiting for the next update.
Really enjoyed the story so far. Dark, wildly fanstastic and a good read. Looking forward to the next release.
