About Murders & Mistresses

M&M is a game about judgment, not logic.
In the demo, you play a compromised police consultant with a criminal past,
investigating a brutal double homicide while navigating temptation, manipulation,
and your own darker instincts — both at work and at home.

The update introduces a brand-new feature:

New Detective Difficulty: Story Mode
You can now choose your detective difficulty, and you can switch it at any time — even mid-investigation.

Story Mode
Story Mode keeps most of the gameplay intact:

  • Explore locations
  • Make deductions
  • Interrogate suspects

The key difference is this:
You no longer combine deductions into conclusions.

Instead, once you’ve spoken to all suspects, you can directly select who you believe is guilty and why for each victim via a dropdown menu. This removes the combinatory layer while keeping the investigative and judgment-based core intact.
You can still interrogate suspects—Story Mode simply uses deductions directly instead of conclusions.

Immersion Mode
If you loved the original system, don’t worry: Immersion Mode is completely unchanged.
All combinatory conclusions remain exactly as they were, so you can continue living out your full red-yarn-on-the-wall fantasy.

Other Changes

  • Fixed a typo
  • Fixed a rare issue where an achievement could cause an error when unlocking the laptop
  • Fixed rollback being possible via scrolling in Real Life Mode
  • Added a unique save page specifically for Real Life Mode saves
  • Fixed a bug where mc would tell Morgan about the wrong case solution
  • Fixed a missing griffin image during the barbecue

If you struggled with the original system, I’d really love for you to try Story Mode and let me know if it made solving the case more enjoyable. And if you’re an Immersion Mode purist—rest assured, nothing has been taken away from you.

So let me get this right:

    > The FIRST game you are a dev on IS NOT NEARLY DONE; you’ve started a new cash cow (don’t pretend that’s not what this is)

    > BOTH have the harem tag (good luck getting it to actually HAPPEN) Because you want to do an overly convoluted Rubix Cube JUST to force the player not to know when and or HOW they’ve “fucked up.” [The original game switched hands, and was BORKED from that point – the saves for it as far as I’m aware have fucked over every player in general for YEARS now and forced restarts = and it STILL may not be able to actually make the game a Harem!]

    > One of you chucklefucks saw Never Back Down and thought “I can make that a game; but PORN!”

    > Now the dipshit that took that game over thinks he can bite the fuck out of L.A. Noire but do it with Porn… Again: JUST to make an overly complicated unnecessary system that all but ENSURES no one will get the ending they want to work towards. IF the dev ever actually GETS to an ending in either game. At all.

    > Because both games are now listed as ONGOING = Each game is going to take about a billion actual years to see completion. But you do you Dev. Frankly your time would be better spent making the first game a) playable again, and b) FINISHED before you bother trying to find a new way to bilk idiots out of their hard earned cash to float a project that’s going to wait for YEARS no matter what they want to hope for.

    >> Do Note: I didn’t say I’m opposed to the IDEA of the game itself, or necessarily to playing it when it’s closer to actually complete – again IF it ever gets there… (provided you stay WELL THE FUCK AWAY from anything remotely NTR! – or “Ex Wife/Girlfriend” related) I am however pointing out, this is NOT the best tactic to get more support. Or to keep your supporters trusting you will complete the work already on your plate.
