I think that the cheats are for the v0.39 of the game, which means isn’t compatible with the v0.40. Maybe I’m wrong, it’s just a Hypothesis.

I’ve had this problem but not only exclusive to this game and the way I’ve fixed this is to actually delete your game folder and extract the new files to wherever you store your games. Weird, I know but it works for me.
Could it be your anti-virus mistaking some game file for a virus? If you use Macafee then this is most likely the cause. If not, well… It was just a guess.

Cheat doesnt work
Download and apply the latest Assembly-CSharp.dll
Still does not work… game freezes when cheat DLL is enabled
Please follow the latest Cheat installation.
Followed multiple times with fresh downloads and still nothing. Is the BepInex suppose to create the CheatMod.dll or do we just place the cheat mod from the download in the plugin folder? I’ve tried that as well and the games does start but no cheat menu.
