The Bite: Revenant

First, the girls are all physically attractive – we’ll come back to that point; it’s important – and the setting is decently put up. There are a few caveats, but this a game that is a niche in general (because of vampires, for once, imagine that…) inside of a niche. We all know what we’re here for, and while I can appreciate a slow burn, fair warning there’s really not a lot of sex based content. The character will joke about being blue balled more than once I believe so far, and he’s not wrong.

In context: I get that the factions have existed far long than MC. I get (and more importantly, actively appreciate) that you’ve managed to set up a world where a fantastical power fantasy has to be careful in a balancing act – BUT also has the means to provide the player avenues of power that straight up stated in the lore you built, not many other vampires are meant to have. However, there NEED to be more ways to gain power, without detriment and not slowly, if you think to have a storyline where the MC is going to be taking on these greater power structures. Not everything NEEDS to be about consequence. Vampires very much like harems are a power fantasy. In fact they’re one of the few you can’t really fuck up. Not if it’s well done.

I do like that you set up the point they’re ability outside of a slightly better than average baseline, is still mostly human. Super healing powers and cheating death not withstanding. I VERY much like the fact that for said loophole to grow MC’s base of raw power you kept open the option to breed. Maybe you could actively add that point to the skill tree as a means to allow players to choose to access the content, so that it doesn’t have to be a guarantteed thing, but is still accessible. I would actually also argue that the trait system with mesmerizing and majesty should be the way to open up a harem path. It’s not currently in the tags, and I get that may not be where the dev personally wants to go with the story’s arc, but having the option able to be open, would do a good bit to alleviate the salt in some of the character’s personalities. (Basically all of them)

Runah’s an empath. As a seven foot great sword wielder… okay. Points to you, because I did not expect that. It does sort of explain the detachment issue; and her hard stance on the law plus the shitty first meeting doesn’t really endear her character at all to most players. One thing about the majesty is it should be a key (and not a rubix cube) to opening the path to bend every “powerful” female over a table, to be yours if that’s what the player wants to do. I won’t care if it’s eventually. Build ups are a part of good RPG’s. Even if I think that right now the burn is a little too slow in the erotic (and the metamorph thing really wasn’t for me… but I figured play nice with the spy who might be useful as long as I do play nice) scenes. Zoey for example is a pain in the arse, and yeah the whole situation is messed up… but she’s asked for a lot of trust; for nothing. A few casual touches, a kiss. Letting me feed was the same thing as a virgin princess about sex, and I get that allusion. Really – but doing the Jason/Julie thing BEFORE Zoey has even properly confessed she has feelings for me (or we got down to doing anything about it) was throwing a monkey wrench out, massively, for no reason but drama.

** She actually is right: she should just kill MC, and the fact that she doesn’t CAN be conveyed as she does care… but it’s timing is massively dickish. It puts MC back at square one, if not into negatives, and there’s no guarantee that whatever spark was there between them would ignite to something hotter just because “fuck it out” sometimes happens. It’s not a healthy way to look at the relationship is what I’m saying. Runah needs to be more active as well, and Emelia, again… LET me be stronger than her. I don’t mind you having Fem Dom content, but I am a dominant mind. If the MC isn’t, that’s a conflict in the option of Choice. Which should be paramount considering all the skills and traits you have in the game. There does need to be a way to bend this woman over a table. Make her submit, and keep her. Have her actually end up the Sub Pet type and be surprised by that. (It’d be ironic as fuck; because she’s the daughter of Vlad’s heir, while MC has a secret. * Not to spoil, but trust me, it’s a doozy and you’ll see what I mean when I call mass irony in this avenue) You guys opened that path: Let the player follow it.

I will say having the option to be “dark” is not bad. Having the Mesmirize power to help you soften the girls doesn’t have to be full mental domination. I’d leave both paths open to appease either branch of player and let the one controlling MC decide how they want to handle things. however, there should be no active fail states (I did not like the random “you died” screen when I tried to actively defend myself against a troupe I REALLY do not like, or find sexy) Both paths, to the end, should be viable. Both should get the player something they want, and each should lead to a type of harem. (Light: Loving, pure affection and loyalty because of both where it’s more like each female chooses you for their one mate – surprised they found that one thing they for any number of reasons didn’t think they would, or would want depending on the person. Dark: They’re all your bonded sex slaves/Breeding bitches, and they enjoy the fact. They won’t betray you for any reason, because you own them. Period. yes, very much even Anna and Runah)

There should be no one by the end that will contest the MC’s power. Whether because he’s chosen to be J. Edgar Hoover and has dirt on EVERYONE; is actively tied in relationships with several players in power, so that his benefit is theirs and theirs is his… or if he just murdered all competition so that Zoey’s faction gets a fair shake because he sides with them. There does not need to be a way to really lose. Or a means to break a relationship. That’s not fantasy man – that’s too close to too many bones for most of us. However I will keep playing in new updates to see where this goes. Too many vampire games on these sites either go off the rails, or seek daylight. Either way, it leaves me cold… and with very blue balls ; )
