Jack Jensen (renamable) drives his old car into the City of Little Regina, searching for clues to find his friend, Alexandra’s missing sister, Lucy. He has no idea that his search will bring him right into the orbit of the feisty soccer player Jessie, her roommate the tough deputy sheriff with a heart of gold, Christa, and last but not least the mischievous cat, Loki.

Slowly but surely Jack and Jessie are drawn to each other, despite their very different lives. Their impact on each other is far more than either of them could have expected. Intertwined in their romance are all the secrets of not just Jack and Jessie but also Christa and the consequences of Jack’s actions and choices as he tries to redeem himself or go further into the dark and let the monster inside feast on his enemies or the innocent.
