About Fear the Dark Shadows

This is a romantic/horror game set in the world of Dark Shadows. In the story, we follow the everyday life of a young guy who initially faces minor daily challenges, but as the story progresses, he becomes more and more entangled in the world of supernatural forces. The story itself is only loosely connected to the original movie; it mainly provided the foundation for the idea.​

  • Tons of bugs have been fixed.
    (Not listing them all individually because I don’t think this post could even handle that many characters )
  • Quest Helper added!
    (Hopefully no conflicts — didn’t run into any during testing. You can access it from the in-game phone under the “Routes” app.)
  • From the computer in the bedroom, you can now:
    • Set a custom name for the main character.
      (People have been requesting this for a while!)
    • Customize your relationships with other characters.
      (Necessary for Patreon’s content rules.)
  • Stacy’s first scene has been fixed.
  • The cleaning mini-game now works properly — you can finish the scene with Carolyn.
  • Demon Fight:
    This was a big one. A lot of players complained it was too hard, confusing, or the scenes were way too long.
    So:

    • Added a tutorial
    • Added skip fight option
    • Scenes can now be shortened
    • Escape mini-games are easier
    • Also rebalanced a few things so it’s not as punishing as it was in the original patch
