Yeah it was Dawn of Malice. What actually happened to that game? Was going and then all of a sudden this game happened.
**SPOILERS**
They stopped working on it but were still taking peoples money who were supporting it. Then after months, lots of fans of the game put up an stink about it and then whiteleaf gave a half-assed apology that was really just a bad excuse and tried to claim victimhood, and then patreon killed their page because they were taking money for support for a game that they had no intentions of continuing. They were also splitting their energy between tamas awakening and the necromancer arises before they were even halfway through dawn of malice.
Several months later they had a new page and were advertising this game, which was a lazy attempt to do something with all the assets from DoM. Now I dont have any problems whatsoever with representing different racial backgrounds in this genre; but they chose a storyline with a white family who has been inbr33ding for a while and somehow decided to give the protagonist a brown aunt with a redheaded daughter, who is your cousin?? Lazy as fuck dev team.
Whiteleaf honestly does a great job, IMO, with the inc breeding kink dialogue, but they are so fucking ADHD that they cant focus on a game. They clearly got bored again with this one and decided to slap a bunch of mud on the wall by churning out a second HALF (barely) of the game (seriously, we, were getting updates from like V0.1-V0.2, and then it went from 0.5 to final) in one update with sloppy writing, tons of mistakes, poor storytelling and a completely different focus from developing story to “Im the protagonist and you are all now my slutty bitch cumbuckets.” Whiteleaf can seriously fuck all the way off. Im generally very understanding of the work devs have to put into games and have even spoken to some of my favorite game devs through their patreon or SS (and obvioously given my financial; support, even to whiteleaf). Never had a problem with any of them and i dont just automatically pull my support for devs when they hit delays or minor personal problems, but whiteleaf is a different breed. They dont care about their games or their fans and they dont learn from their mistakes
TLDR; whiteleaf treats games like a dog treats squirrels. Theyre distractable AF and when the catch a new one they tear it apart until it a bloody mangled mess, then the move on to the next one.
No one looks alike. Regardless what they say, I don’t believe anything about this premise and I don’t like anyone.
