With this release, players enter the Mid Game, where ulterior motives and inconvenient truths begin to pave the road to this particular neighborhood of Hell.
The big shift occurs with the ability to rev your studio up into high gear. As you recruit your Senior Team, you’ll be able to buy IP, enter your productions into various awards and sell the distribution rights to overseas markets. Adding specialists will increase the power and prestige of your productions as well. New movie projects have been added, with increasingly high value on screen talent too. You’ll be able to move from smaller sized movies to mid sized big box office potential productions at last. But beware of over capitalizing too soon, because your new friends also have work for you to do!
You’ll have industry secrets to uncover, with threads of corruption leading back decades for you to reveal and exploit. There is a secret group operating in the heart of Tinsel Town that represents both a threat and an opportunity. Finally, there is a major assignment your new associates will expect you to complete, one that will give you part ownership in the most infamous and secretive destination in the city.
Back in the office, you’ll have increasing latitude as you whip Kim Mitchell into a secretary suitable for a Studio Head like yourself. If you earn it, your new friends will provide you with new training and conditioning services you may use to shape and mold Kim into the office girl you want. Finally, you’ll have the opportunity to unlock OptiTrack, a new monitoring system that will prove invaluable in laying Kim’s true emotional and mental status bare and one you can use to measure her changes as she slowly bends to your increasingly draconian and intimate demands.
Lots of quality of life fixes have been added, so there’s now less down time to ‘operating’ Kim, as well as calibration of various values to reduce play downtime button clicking. There are lots of mini-quests to engage in and there’s no ‘one way’ to ‘win’. More characters have been added, as well as older characters helping to advance the narratives forward as well. There will be choices to make as to how you decide to approach problems and you’ll always be juggling your time, money and resources to do lots of things, both in the short and long terms. And don’t forget to buff your personal stats– as the challenges get bigger, you’ll need to be tougher, smarter and more charming than ever to succeed.
A final note: there are two movie projects listed- Guilty By Design and Model Employee— that cannot be produced in the current release. You can bid and even win them, but you won’t be able to produce them for now. Both will be ‘makeable’ in the next release.
