About Love by the Water
Due to an odd connection with the ocean, the protagonist—an avid reader raised by his fisherman father—has never been able to venture far enough away from home to really experience the world around him. Tomorrow, the local school re-opens near the town’s pier after the old property gets bought out by a wealthy industrialist, and our self-taught and socially inexperienced protagonist uses it as an opportunity to get out of his shell and make new friends, all the while attempting to hide his family’s secret.

– 1,500 new renders: While many of these are strictly visual upgrades for old content, many of these images make up entirely new scenes and interactions that take place early on in the game. I sought to fix early pacing issues, as well as better execute certain characterizations and themes I think I did an amateur job of establishing.
– 50 animations: I spent a lot of the time over the last past few months improving in every facet of development, and I think that’s going to be most clear in my animations. These animations are the best I’ve ever made and showcase the quality I intend to commit to going forward. Those who have played the original chapter know that the two earliest H-scenes don’t features animations at all (they are, instead, just cycling images); these scenes have, of course, been fully redone and extended, as have the rest of the early game H-content. I’ve also begun implementing choreographed timeline animation for non-sexual content that I think (or hope) people will enjoy.
– Updated pacing and changes: I’ve never shied away from the fact that this is a porn game. This is not something I’m ashamed of, and I have no intention of ever being any kind of slowburn. That being said, I do think I treated some characters unfairly in my initial writing, and I wanted to give them a second chance. This means that certain early game H-content that I deem rushed, forced, or exceedingly unromantic has been removed from the game. This primarily affects Nora and her two scenes, both of which have been removed from the story (though the scenes are still playable in the game’s gallery). This is the right choice for her. She deserves romance, wining and dining, etc.

So far, this has the makings of a very good parody of Aquaman.

I do have a couple legitimate criticisms, and a suggestion for them. I also have a couple small nitpicks if I’m honest.
1) You’ll let us choose Romantic or Plotonic; but you won’t let us choose Trans or Female? Come on Dev. You could even make the choice of Trans as Platonic when that choice comes up. For the one specific character thus far I’ve seen that has that problem (and it is a problem – because it’s there for nothing more than a socio political check box. I get it, the awards are fucked for having included that shit in the first place. Doesn’t mean you need to bow down to it)
Tied: You could have added Boy/Girl to the scene (which SHOULD NOT BE FORCED) in the mall washroom. Have Emma decide to sneak her way in; problem solved. Have some other random girl who might eventually be a love interest do the same. Problem solved. Forcing in Gay Option just to have one, without granting an option that caters to literally 99.9% of your actual playing audience is VERY political to actively short sighted. Do note: I care less that the scenes and the politics inherent are there, than that there’s not available means to not engage with them. IE; A Plotonic option DOES NOT fix the fact that other than for purely retarded social politics reasons, you’ve inserted a character that frankly would be best off as FEMALE = and therein taken away an otherwise perfectly viable member of the actual Harem.
On to the nitpicks, since I doubt you’ll actually take my suggestions into account, regardless of the fact they couldn’t possibly be that much more work to code…
A) June’s Mom: Doesn’t need to look facially that old if she’s got the body of a 30 year old track star.
B) Guidance Counsellor/anyone else that will eventually be a full LI: Does not need to be THAT level of chunky, or again read directly above. Shave a LITTLE bit of the curves off of her and she’s perfectly viable as an “older” love interest. But the white haired version of the same also needs to be pared down a bit.
C) The Coach; if you can make her MOTHER look attractive even with the white hair and eye patch, and Risa’s her fucking sister = there was no reason to make that one look more like an actual MAN just because you made her a Muscle Monster. You can be a female body builder and still be extremely feminine (you didn’t fuck up Kana for example…) There’s also the point that whatever the fuck Lily is = give the poor girl some actual HAIR. Bald is not even guaranteed sexy on a man, and Senade O’ Conner literally cut her hair that way to THROW AWAY her model career. Frankie could stand to have more up top, but it doesn’t have to go insane with it. Frankly it’d also be an option to use transformation magic by one of the Supernaturals to just straight up MAKE her a full woman and be done. If you’d rather not muck with what you’ve already coded. It’s not unsalvageable.
= I also hope that you will be making Risa an LI at some point very soon, and go ALL the way with that “Breed Me” thing from Celia. (Don’t cock tease about pregnancy, and it should eventually be discussed by, and/or an option choice for ALL Harem Members) There’s not much point in her or Celia being in the game at all if they weren’t eventually going to join the MC’s Harem.

First, the Trans stuff does not need to exist – it is a very specific socio political agenda that is in decline (I don’t care that they exist; I do care that romancing one may be forced on me as I am a straight person in real life. Trans does fuck all for me, and unless the person in question is either turned into a male or female FULLY > by magic = it does not belong in a “fantasy” context) This is a game with super powers/magic. Actual, legitmate magic. You’re going to tell me that Captain Man, I feel like a woman wouldn’t have SOME means to actually enact that on a permanent basis? Why don’t you go back to playing Dragon Age: Veilguard. And you call me the stupid sheep…
Second; Aesthetics. They exist; most people are NOT attracted to fat people. There is a reason the body standards for models and super models existed in the first place. There is also a reason Ruebanesque was ever a thing and Voluptuous is just an overly polite way to call someone chunky as fuck. You DO NOT need to try to suit everyone’s tastes in any video game when by and large you’re going to turn off more than you’ll attract for the attempt. Also – it’s a harem. The point isn’t claim them all because they’re there. It’s pick the ones you like who hold value to you, and will be loyal. Keep them.
So many devs fail on that point alone, just because they did the work to render X character. But think what you want. By the way = I’m five foot four in real life; I happen to weight about 140 lbs. My mother was 5 foot 3 and 3/4rths and god forbid you forget the 3/4rths. She was at one point well over 230 lbs. There’s a reason I don’t find “fat” attractive. Aside from the fact I’m not physically able enough to win in a fight because I have fuck all balance – so sue me if I’d rather my SO would be at least close enough to my own size. If you want to date Free Willy because that floats your boat, I recommend Lizzo. Whatever makes you happy, asshole. It would be a different story if you actually had your own criticism about the game, counter points to bring up as to my takes. Or why Trans/Larger people SHOULD be in the game (you might’ve stated ogres or minotaurs or giant races can be brought in, or Dragon shifters > though shapeshifting would actually be an argument against Fat in general due to the mechanics inherent) You could’ve stated that if Male Seahorses can carry the young; other magical races might’ve evolved with both genetalia as their core feature, to encourage breeding more easily or because it had trouble doing so and sought a magical answer that borked their species’ evolution from X point. There were actual credible arguments to be made. You chose not.
