I’d give you points for seeming to follow through with the notion of Divinity you bring up (I’d also take away as many if not more points for all the 4rth wall breaking tongue in cheek nods to the fact you know exactly what rules you’re fucking up when it comes to the genre you profess the game to be Dev…) BUT: Player. Choice. IS what counts. Not the main character. You have yet to even offer ONE fucking actual choice. With several places wherein one might at least have been PRESENTED to me to choose.

You literally named a chapter: I Don’t Want To Be The Protagonist Anymore! (What is he three years old?)

You also in that same chapter both FORCE the acceptance of the Divinity path AND try to make the MC fuck around about NOT accepting it. Pick. One! Quickly for fuck sakes. Or better yet let the individual PLAYERS pick what story path they want to go down. [I’m not best pleased about the idea his IDEAL is “Harem” and then you point out in breaking the 4rth Wall that it “might just be the same path other gods have gone down.” When. The. Fuck. Did I choose one??? Because I guarantee you it will piss more than just me off, if the only actual choice I get in this damned game is going to be having downloaded the bloody thing to start with. “Story Driven” is fine. Driving the narrative off the cliff without any player input in a Visual Novel (which is usually still in the sense of harem, willing to at least let the player choose who the fuck they interact with, and sometimes even how) is NOT okay Dev. You either want this fucker to be the Supreme God, and he accepts that premise regardless of how he feels about himself personally [Make him RESOLVE to live up to it!!!] or you want him to be some schmuck farmhand that found a sword buried in a stone. Who runs off to try playing King Arthur only to get ganked by his cousin, who’s actually a life long soldier. Pick. One.

You gave the MC a magic ring. Whoopie. You gave him a potion to correct something that didn’t even have to be part of the story to start with. Big Deal. You haven’t let us choose a DAMNED thing about the actual character in 3 freaking chapters out of fuck knows how many this update. So far, my desire to find out has been waning. There’s not even been any nude shots. Nevermind even so much as foreplay. There have been 4 specific girls that COULD be in the Harem; One of them abjectly hates “the protagonist” to start with, the other is the standard Mommy character/Maid, we have an Angel/Goddess who’s basically smarter than everyone but also somehow fucking clueless, and a Neko who’s death flagged but not really because MC (Maybe?) might actually get to DECIDE her fate. Yay?

Look, I don’t care for the history lesson. I don’t really need more than the bare bones of world building to get into a good story. A little bit of lore goes a long way really. Set the basic rules of the world up. Fine. Set up even the skeletal structure of a magic system you can build on and grow out in time. Also Fine. Feed me the livery of every house, in every nation down to listing their differentiating culinary preferences ala George R R Martin, and at that point you’re really just Blue Balling the audience for the actual story. Or stalling for time to come up with it. In the words of the actually immortal Monty Python: Get on with it! (And that includes the naughty bits…)
