A Goblin’s Tale

Being honest, I thought this game (out of all the – too many – goblin management/harem games) actually had the most potential to be something special.

I didn’t like the stealth elements, and adding a lockpicking minigame to it broke the camel’s back for me (it didn’t actually serve the plot of the story to cock block everything by always needing to be stealthy; and reinforcing that with a punitive monetary requirement to buy the lockpicks didn’t help) BUT the females were decently rendered, and the plot did have potential. It would have had more potential if the author hadn’t been determined to undermine the goblin’s power at every opportunity (and the elder daughter was a problem; in that she SHOULD have been exactly as much a virgin as the younger one – but one specific unnecessary scene put that out the window) * Several of the quests were only half implemented or were broken.

I can understand why it was abandoned, as it’s very niche content to start with. Adding complex and not necessarily best implemented mechanics that made the game harder didn’t do it any favors. But it is disappointing. At least now I know why I haven’t seen it pop up on a site for so long.
