A Family Venture

For me; the game lost me with the constant threat of NTR. I get that it’s a potential consequence, but with all the railroading of you needing to provide a certain set amount each week to the mob in order to avoid it/win over your Mom and probably allow for a not instant death situation as you get closer to porking your sisters… the idea of how easily some steps can be mucked up – which leads to an UNAVOIDABLE NTR consequence (Your little sister will straight up tell you to your face, she will fuck the black guy who is your rival for another girl’s affections, if you can’t help her win the student council thing… which isn’t very clearly laid out as to how you’re meant to succeed at doing so)

It should just be from the start – “Do you want to see NTR content?” Yes. No? Good. Done.
Nevermind the agent who probably has nefarious designs on stealing your sister’s virginity before you can claim it yourself. There’s got to be a clear defined way to get her into your cause/MC into HER pants… without ever once involving the sister. Any woman the MC is working toward, should automatically be marked HIS. The “consequence” bit is getting tiresome, since it’s supposed to be avoidable anyway and you creators that tout it seem to be grudging in general about allowing it to BE fully avoided. If I fail to pay the mob… or specifically if I fail to pay the mob repeatedly: Fine. Have at it. Then put that “consequence” scene as a Game Over. Job done. You got the truth in that statement met, but it doesn’t need to impact the player’s stress level overall.

The most galling part of my tap out point with the younger sister (though I’ll argue there’s FAR too much grinding involved, pointlessly, to progress in this game overall. Incrementally, and not in large ones either – it took me forever just to get one of the girls to be okay with the lightest amount of foreplay… but she was also willing to have her way with MC while he’s unconscious. Yet she’ll cry molestor if he tries??? Really… That’s never a fun double standard, and no, calling her out on it doesn’t make it okay. But at the end, don’t have some damned Christmas fairy show me a “possible” future where all three in the family are pregnant by MC, and happily his women. Show me that it WILL be the future. Period. You’ve got to give the players more to work with, if you want them to grind until their fingers are bloody just to get anywhere. That younger sister rebellious streak comes out of nowhere, and it’s a pure princess move (but I can’t pin her to the wall and spank the hell out of her in front of black boy to get the point across when she comes from it, that she belongs to ME…) it come after the Christmas scene, so it’s doubly a fuck you to the player for all the work done thus far. No bueno devs. Like I said, I found that to be the last straw on top of an agent who’s obviously corrupt, who’s there to make you think something’s going to fuck up… on top of the mob who are a constant reminder to pay up. So your finances through the whole way are actively much less than they should be… so get to work grunt. Gah.

The girls are also not very grateful in general. The mother’s a former stripper and a lush. The elder daughter’s a pure feminist who with the MC’s eventual influence starts to get Lacy Greene with it. Which still doesn’t redeem the PITA of her character. The younger sister again, pulls that brat move which in real life would be the point her brother would actively disown her forever to do what she freaking wants. That one scene I’m not likely to forgive. Literally never. To move on though, there doesn’t need to be an aunt who’s judgement and clearly repressed who wants to keep MC away from his much more open and willing cousin; who’s also just as clearly likely to end up in his bed at some point and probably sharing her daughter with him during sex… There’s a certain level of Tsundere that is acceptable. Anything more comes off as a brick wall. The game again, has potential, but the mechanics and the events of the story do need a bit of a re-work to soften things overall. At this point, it’s way too dark, and way too stressful to think I can get anything good out of. There has to be something about the characters to draw your audience in. To keep them invested. Putting MC as the player avatar in constant danger of losing what he wants on top of making them awful people to him, while he’s going out of his way to help them – yes for his own carnal reasons – which also actively makes his end goal of mob freedom that much harder; is a hard sell from the start. Not that I’ll expect you’ll listen to me. Plenty of people probably disagree with my views, but this is another one that for all intents is marked a harem, except in the tags.

*** Do note: I’m not saying hand me everything all at once. I’m not saying I hate grinding, but there is a difference between a genuine slow burn story, and Dude why can’t I even begin to light the match? Lighten up on the economic screw job, actually make the girls more willing to, and show the relative effect of the player’s choice to have MC be helpful, and responsible as the “Man of the House” rather than just having it be a thrown out title, and this game would be leagues better. It did have potential… nail down the story a little more, figure out where you want to go with it, and how to extract the MC from the giant arsed anvil you’ve put around his ankle before he takes a swan dive into a very deep lake, and I’d be willing to give it another go. As it stands, there’s a cancer here in Dem marked; and it’s more than I want to shake my personal spear at.
