What's New in Small on Top Version - 0.86?

Heya!

Here are the new changes coming to the game. The pdf for the changes with pics is on my p-site for my patrons.

Here’s a short, quick list of what’s new:

• Fire Dungeon Hard difficulty FL3 + everything that comes along with it.

Gameplay

Fire Dungeon QoL updates

• FL 3 uses the modern item acquisition method.
• The green torch in FL3 now fully recovers the party, instead of healing just for 100 HP.

Fire Dungeon Hard mode FL 3 updates

• Chests have new items consisting of high quality potions (+ life potions) and QC.
• The Red Chest you need a key for has all the Overheated weapons + upgraded loot.
• In the boss chests you can find one of ALL of the Overheated weapons, upgraded gold, QC and EXP orbs (left chest has rare EXP orbs and right chest has 1 epic EXP orb.)
• All the enemies have higher stats.
• Only the gold rewards are updated in the chests in Rubyro’s room.
• The chances to get Fire Spell books from one of the Rubyro’s chests are doubled, so it’s easier to get them! Drop rates for hard mode are: tier 1 (1/1), tier 2 (1/5), tier 3 (1/10).
• There is a new shop in Rubyro’s room where you can exchange Overheated Weapons with the new Fire weapons.

Fire Mage updates

In hard mode, he will drop these EXP orbs

• Normal rarity: 4x 100%, 3x 50%, 2x 25%, 4-9 in total.
• Uncommon rarity: 1x 100%, 1x 50%, 2x 25%, 1-4 in total.
• Rare rarity: 1x 50%, 1x 25%, 0-2 in total.

Fire Mage now uses modern skill rotation and has some new skills! This is his normal form.

1. Fire Attack
2. Double Fire Attack. Fire Attack, but strikes 2 targets.
3. Flame Bullets
4. Rotate back to Fire Attack.

This is his new Overheated form, that replaces his Charmed form. He has increased SPE and MAG in this form.

1. Overheated. This skill is to set up his next skill and doesn’t do anything by itself, other than the Fire Mage commenting.
2. Heatwave. Fire Attack, but strikes all targets. He transform back to his normal form afterwards.

ACT skill updates/Explanation

• Everything stays the same with the ACT skills, you only need to use the “Blow The Fire Out” skill before the Fire Mage uses the new Heatwave skill and goes back to his normal form.
• Using “Blow The Fire Out” cancels his Overheated state and he starts his normal skill rotation from the start.

Other updates

• Updated intro lines for the battle.

Rubyro’s Guard updates

In hard mode, he will drop these EXP orbs

• Normal rarity: 3x 100%, 1x 50%, 1x 25%, 3-5 in total.
• Uncommon rarity: 1x 100%, 2x 50%, 3x 25%, 1-6 in total.
• Rare rarity: 1x 50%, 2x 25%, 0-3 in total.

Rubyro’s Guard now uses modern skill rotation his skills now do Fire Damage, instead of Axe damage. They also no longer do varied damage.

1. Attack.
2. Attack.
3. Triple Attack.
4. Rotate back to “Attack”.

ACT skill updates.

• Same skills.
• No longer cost TP.
• Instead of Charm/Infatuated state causing “might not attack/won’t attack”, they lower his ATK instead.

Other updates

• Updated comments to make him feel more like a guard.
• Additional sprite art! New faces and a new “defeat” form if you bring him to Infatuated state with ACT skills and then defeat him.

Small layout changes in Rubyro’s room so I can fit the new NPC there in Hard mode.

Story

Saron now appears in Paradino after the story is done! He can be found in his home with his husband.

A big new story scene in Golorock after beating Runt Whiner. If you’ve already beaten Runt, to trigger the event just talk with the random NPC in the Golorock town main hall.

New Weapons

All the new weapons can be bought with 5000G and 1 Overheated “precursor“ weapon from the new Rubyro’s Guard NPC in Rubyro’s Room (only hard mode). For example, Melting Scorcher can be bought with the Overheated Dagger and 5000G!

Don’t worry about the gold too much, You can get lots of gold during your Fire Dungeon run. The last chests also give 5000G if you have gotten the armor pieces already.

You can also buy Rare EXP orbs with Overheated weapons at the same place (costs only the weapon). Good for any leftover weapons you may have.
